Enjoy Fitness, Hydrotherapy and Relaxation in One

A swim spa gives you a versatile space for exercise, relaxation, and family enjoyment without the footprint of a traditional swimming pool. Depending on the model, you can swim against a continuous current, perform low-impact aquatic workouts, stretch, or simply enjoy the warm water after a long day.

Because swim spas combine fitness and hydrotherapy in one system, they can be a practical option for homeowners who want more functionality from their backyard. They are also designed for year-round use, making it possible to enjoy aquatic exercise and relaxation even during colder Wisconsin months.

A Versatile Alternative to a Traditional Pool

Swim spas are available in a range of sizes and configurations to suit different goals. Some homeowners primarily want a dedicated space for swimming and exercise, while others prefer a model that offers more seating and hydrotherapy features for relaxing with family and friends.

Their smaller footprint can also make swim spas easier to fit into many backyards than a full-size pool. With the right foundation, electrical setup, and installation planning, a swim spa can become a convenient centerpiece for both wellness and recreation at home.

We ordered patio furniture from Master Z's. Rob the manager was great in directing us in the direction with color choice and furniture order. When the furniture came in Dustin in the warehouse was great getting the pieces assembled in a timely manner. We were so happy that our order from Berlin Gardens shipped within the time indicated and between Dustin in the warehouse and Danny who delivered our furniture, we couldn't be happier. Thank you Rob, Dustin and Danny for the prompt service and communication and getting our order ready so we were able to get it to where we needed when. Very nice to work with people who take the time and effort to help the customer. People who put customer in customer service. YAY

Purchased a Brunswick shuffleboard table and really had issues from the outset with the table being "off", pucks were very difficult to even keep on the playing surface. After several adjustments, and little improvement, they contacted Brunswick and got us a new table which works great. Fun to play now, not frustrating. Was very happy with their team and follow up. Thanks.

Frequently Asked Questions About Swim Spas

  • A swim spa is a compact aquatic system that combines many of the benefits of a swimming pool with the comfort and hydrotherapy features of a hot tub. It uses powerful jets or a dedicated swim current to create resistance, allowing you to swim in place without needing the length of a traditional pool.

Beyond swimming, a swim spa can be used for low-impact exercise, water walking, stretching, resistance training, and general recreation. Many models also include therapy seating and massage jets, giving you a separate space to relax and recover after a workout. Because the water can be heated and the unit is smaller than a full-size pool, swim spas can also be practical for year-round use in colder climates.

  • A swim spa is typically smaller than a traditional pool and is designed to create resistance for swimming and exercise within a compact space. Swim spas can also offer heated water, therapy seating with jets, and year-round usability.

  • Yes. Many swim spas create a continuous current that allows you to swim in place without needing the length of a traditional swimming pool. Current strength and swim performance vary by model.

  • Swim spas can be used for swimming, walking, jogging, resistance exercises, stretching, play time with kids, and other low-impact aquatic workouts. They can also be useful for people who want exercise options that place less impact on the joints.

  • Yes. Many swim spas include jetted seating or hydrotherapy areas where you can sit back and relax after swimming or exercising.

  • Yes. Many swim spas are designed for year-round operation, including during Wisconsin winters. Proper insulation, a quality cover, routine maintenance, and consistent operation are especially important during cold weather.

  • The amount of space you need depends on the size of the model and the installation layout. You will also need room around the swim spa for access, maintenance, steps, and any surrounding deck or patio features. Our largest swim spas are around 17 feet long and 8 feet wide. Plus you would need to give about 3 to 4 feet of free space around the spa at least for maintenance.

  • A swim spa requires a flat, stable surface capable of supporting the weight of the unit when it is completely filled with water and occupants. Concrete pads and other properly engineered foundations are common installation options.

  • Most swim spas require a dedicated electrical connection installed by a qualified electrician. Electrical requirements vary by model, so it is important to confirm the specifications before installation.

  • Routine maintenance generally includes testing and balancing the water, maintaining proper sanitizer levels, cleaning filters, keeping the cover clean, and periodically draining and refilling the swim spa.

  • The schedule can vary depending on the model, water volume, usage, and water care routine. Regular testing and proper maintenance can help keep the water clean and comfortable between drain-and-refill cycles.

  • Yes. Swim spas are generally easier to maintain than traditional swimming pools because they hold significantly less water and have a smaller surface area to clean and manage. This means water testing, chemical balancing, filtration, and routine cleaning are typically more manageable.

Swim spas are also covered when not in use, which helps keep out leaves, debris, and other contaminants. With regular water testing, filter cleaning, and proper water care, maintaining a swim spa can be a simpler and less time-consuming process than caring for a full-size pool.

  • Consider how you plan to use it most often. Swimming performance, exercise space, hydrotherapy seating, size, water depth, installation requirements, energy efficiency, and budget should all be compared before choosing a model.
