THE STORY
People often ask us how did Master Z’s start? Well, in a very short story here’s the way it happened: Back in 1990 Ken and Tracy were active dart and billiard players in the Waukesha area and were expecting their first child. Six months into the pregnancy Ken lost his job in Milwaukee. Ever hear the term "barefoot and pregnant"? Well, that couldn't have applied more! Three days before Thanksgiving, with no more than $100 to their name, they started Master Z's.
Ken went bar to bar, door to door selling darts. They got their first big break at the Milwaukee Sport Show by borrowing $600 for a booth space from Ken's dad. Tracy would help Ken out at the Sport Shows and hold down a full time job at the hospital. It was tough, very tough. Ken drove a beater Ford Escort with a rusted hole in the back seat floor board. Ken remembers the time his briefcase of darts fell thru the floorboard onto the road as he was driving! Oh yea, those were the days!! As time passed they were able to move into their pro dart shop, they began to buy old pool tables, fix them up and resell them. Eventually they became an AMF billiard dealer and business began to grow. Their big break came when they became an Olhausen billiard dealer. That allowed them to purchase a store on Sunset Drive and eventually build their state of the art billiard and dart dream store which they still occupy today. They owe a lot of thanks to a lot of people that helped them along the way. Ken and Tracy's parents were very supportive and have helped them out along the way and continue to do so today.
